CLICK TO PLAY EPISODE: According to the United States Preventative Services Task force–An independent panel of experts in primary care and prevention that systematically
reviews the evidence of effectiveness and develops recommendations for clinical
preventive services—the same group who recommended women get mammos every year starting at age 40, has changed their tune. Now they say don’t start til you’re 50 and then only go every 2 years. They say it is causing too much stress and too much action around false positives. But they also recommend not examining your own breasts because it also leads to unnecessary testing. HELLO!? We’ll touch our breasts as often as we darn well please. Need to think more about this mammo reco. Hear more on this HERE.

More info can be found here from the group that made the recommendation: http://www.ahrq.gov/clinic/uspstf09/breastcancer/brcanrs.htm
